    I have seen other videos with similar topics, but felt that they only ever really covered surface level things, and ultimately I felt they were a waste of my time. Your video on the other hand was both informative and interesting. I appreciate the level of thought you put into the advice you presented. Some of these things I genuinely hadn't thought about and found what you covered to be very helpful.

    😢 if the drone weighs over .55 lbs (250g) it has to registered even if it’s is being used recreationally. Also, any drone over 250g (fully loaded with batteries and payload) have to have remote ID in addition to being registered.

      Hello, can you clarify what you are looking to download? I'm assuming you mean for the Mavic 2 pro and DJI Fly. If that is correct, the Mavic 2 Pro does not use the Fly app. You will want to download the DJI Go 4 app. I hope that helps.

    What If you dont want to crop the video, but still want it to fit vertically in 9:16 (with full screen)?

    • @altitudeuniversity
      @altitudeuniversity 7 днів тому

      Thanks for watching our content. If you want a video to fit vertically in a 9:16 aspect ratio without cropping, you have a few options: Letterboxing or Pillarboxing: This involves adding black bars to either the sides (pillarboxing) or the top and bottom (letterboxing) of the video to maintain the original aspect ratio. This way, the video will fit within the 9:16 frame without cropping any content, but you'll have black bars around it. Scaling and Padding: You can scale the video to fit within the 9:16 frame while maintaining the original aspect ratio. This might leave some empty space on the sides or top and bottom, which you can fill with a background color or texture to match your video's aesthetic. Creative Editing: If possible, you could reframe or reposition elements within your video to ensure important content remains within the central 9:16 area. This approach requires some editing skills to adjust the composition effectively.

      It can be a challenge for sure. The key is to sell the value of your services beyond what the perception may be ("just a drone pilot"). I like to add that I offer safety, flying legally so they don't get fined and that I carry insurance so if there is an accident, they are covered. It usually helps sell the idea of hirer rates.

      @@altitudeuniversity I'm learning just from studying that there's a lot of little things that go into being a drone pilot. I'm taking my part 107 test on Tuesday! Most of the drone gigs I'm preparing for are simple photo and video capturing an event or a space. I would love to see a comprehensive video walking through a full job and the steps needed to prepare for something bigger. Things like contacting ATC for permission, or using radios to contact towers for weather are intimidating for a someone who isn't a full-time manned aircraft pilot. I would love to transition out of the smaller drones like my Mavic 2 or Air 3 that I just got into larger ones that hold camera rigs for my commercial shoots, but I don't know where to start. Any other videos that feature specific gear or prep items would be great. I loved seeing the landing pad you use, that's a great idea. Things like logbooks or how to use the radios would be awesome. For any flight scenario that propeller guards are advised or required, are there ways to add those on to DJI-type consumer drones? Or do you need something bigger or more of a custom built setup for that? Just a few ideas off the top of my head. I love to see anything involving practical application of all the stuff we're studying. Thanks again!

    Am I missing something? I cannot possibly know which direction the remote PIC should look the "unmanned aircraft operations at 9 o'clock" because they only tell you where your drone is in relation to the manned air traffic not in relation to you, the remote PIC. I could be anywhere viewing my drone in flight, especially since the 2 miles distance is under the 3 miles required visibility.

      Hello, this is one of the most difficult questions in the material. Honestly, after taking the Part 107 test in person 3 times and the recurrent several times as well, I have never seen this question on the exam. I wouldn't worry too much about this one.

    you can google faa trust test and your state name and you will find it... its pretty easy you dont need to study. you can also take it an unlimited number of times. you also need to be able to show the certificate of completion of this test, or a part 107 pilots license (commercial) along with the registration of the drone both on your person and on the outside of the drone itself.

    I’ve been studying the pilot institute course and it’s so much information. 12 hours of information is way too much honestly. I often don’t even have time for it most days after work. Is there anything else that gets straight to the point of what I need to study beforehand? I just want to know what to study and take my test already.

      Hello, it can get frustrating when deciding what you need for the test. We think our course is a great one for preparing for the exam. Our practice tests help most students feel like they are well prepared. To get a feel for what we cover, check out our video on reviewing for the Part 107. If you sort our videos by length or views, it is the one at the top of the list. If you have any specific questions, feel free to email me at david@sdaltitude.com. I hope that helps! Good luck with your studies!

      REMOTE ID SERIAL NUMBER * cant find this information >.<

    • @altitudeuniversity
      @altitudeuniversity Місяць тому

      @@Joshinyou If you load the footage to UA-cam you need a Part 107 license. The FAA considers UA-cam commercial work. The remote ID serial number should be in the battery compartment on the drone. it is the same serial number as the drone. Even if you don't think you will be making money by posting the footage on UA-cam the FAA can still hit you on it if they choose to. A lot of people don't realize it, but that is technically what the law says. I hope that helps, thanks for watching the video!

      That's the 5 dollar license correct? I've taken the trust test certification as well as paid for recreational use 5 dollars now in the process of paying another 5 dollars per the 107

      Just paid and registered for the part 107 I wish I could email you pictures of what I've done so far as I have printed out what I've needed to as well saved in my email. Would I need to list both numbers on the underside of my drone 🤔

    • @altitudeuniversity
      @altitudeuniversity Місяць тому

      @@Joshinyou Hello, if you only have one drone, you can just list the registration number that is associated with commercial work. There is no need to put the other number since the commercial registration number can cover both. I hope that helps.
